What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality daily care and husbandry for minipigs.
  • Maintain clean, sanitized, and biosecure animal housing and work areas.
  • Move and handle animals safely and humanely using established procedures.
  • Monitor animal health and promptly communicate observations to appropriate team members.
  • Support breeding and production activities, including breeding, farrowing, animal identification, routine health care, and shipment preparation.
  • Feed animals and maintain accurate feeding and weight records.
  • Record production and animal care information using electronic record systems.
  • Clean and sanitize animal housing, equipment, and supplies using specialized cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities that support the success of the production team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Experience working with animals, agriculture, production, manufacturing, or a related hands-on environment preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for electronic recordkeeping and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with livestock, animal husbandry, or animal care.
  • Experience working in a biosecure, regulated, or production environment.

Work Environment

This position may require:

  • Working in varying temperatures with regular animal interaction.
  • Performing physically active work, including lifting, moving, and handling animals.
  • Operating cleaning and sanitation equipment.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Following strict biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety procedures.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Weekend/On-Call Requirements: Participation in a rotating weekend schedule.
  • Pay Grade: B1
  • Pay Range: $19.50 – $29.25 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
