Job Summary

Performs a variety of general and specific clinical laboratory duties including but not limited to the areas of Phlebotomy, Central Specimen Processing/Shipping. Collects routine laboratory specimens by standard venipuncture and skin puncture. Processes specimens and requisitions to appropriate lab section. Distributes and files laboratory reports.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent with on the job training available.
Clinical laboratory experience preferred.
Word and Excel experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

Work involves sitting, standing, stooping, and bending, walking throughout the hospital and between physician's office locations outside the hospital. Work may require moderate lifting (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly).
Work requires finger/hand dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
Work is in clean, well lighted, climate controlled environment.
Works with biological (infectious) and chemical hazardous material.
Minimal hazards under normal conditions.
