ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

This position is ideal for an experienced, confident ICU Registered Nurse who thrives in a rural critical access setting. The selected candidate will serve as the sole ICU-trained RN on each shift, providing expert care for critically ill patients while supporting the care of medical-surgical patients throughout the unit.

Responsibilities include continuous ECG monitoring and rhythm interpretation, management of ICU-level patients, and collaboration with providers and the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to prioritize and respond effectively in a dynamic environment.

Our ICU RNs provide care for a diverse patient population, including those requiring treatment for diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), vasoactive and cardiac medication infusions, advanced airway management, pediatric illnesses and emergencies, substance use disorders, and other medically complex conditions. Nurses in this role are expected to function independently while utilizing available resources and maintaining a high standard of clinical excellence.

License/Registration/Certification Required: 

  1. CPR (within 30 days of start date)

  2. ACLS-required for all direct patient care RNs

  3. Med/Surg and BirthCare-if not certified at time of hire, between year 1 and 2 of start date

  4. All other RNs-if not certified at the time of hire, within 1 year of start date

  5. PALS, PEARS or ENPC-required for ER, ICU, PACU, SDS

    1. If not certified at time of hire, within 1 year of start date
