Job DetailsJob Location: Hutchinson Clinic - Hutchinson, KS 67502Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Health CareRole: Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices and maintains office hours as directed by department manager. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Administer intravenous medications. Documents administration and side effects in the medical record. Instructs patient and family regarding medications, side effects and treatment instruction. Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Performs related work as required. Performance Measures: Participates in interdisciplinary care planning with physician and other health care professionals such as home care, dietary, and hospice. Involves patient and family in care planning and attempts to establish interventions specific to the individual needs of the patient. Reviews laboratory indices and appropriately instructs patient regarding conservation of energy, infection, and bleeding precautions. QualificationsKnowledge & Skills: Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience is preferred. Education: A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job. Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
