Position Overview

We’re seeking a Texas Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our Residential & Light Commercial Service team.

This is primarily residential service work—not new construction or production wiring. You’ll handle scheduled service calls and electrical projects, troubleshoot complex electrical issues, perform repairs and installations, and communicate directly with customers to provide professional solutions.

You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor apprentices, take on more advanced service work, and grow into additional leadership responsibilities as A Team Home Services continues to expand.

This role offers steady work, no after-hours or emergency calls, and a compensation structure designed to reward performance and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Repairs

  • Install and repair outlets, lighting, panels, wiring, breakers, generators, and related electrical equipment
  • Perform electrical repairs, installations, and service upgrades
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and NEC-compliant drawings
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using modern testing tools
  • Identify appropriate repair and upgrade solutions based on customer needs and existing electrical systems

Residential Service Work

  • Handle scheduled residential and light commercial service calls
  • Clearly communicate electrical issues, findings, and recommended solutions to customers
  • Explain equipment operation and answer customer questions
  • Provide high-quality, professional service from arrival through job completion
  • Complete accurate service documentation and material tracking

Teamwork & Mentorship

  • Support, train, and mentor apprentices in the field
  • Help ensure work performed by the team meets company quality and safety standards
  • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, project managers, and other team members as needed
  • Represent A Team Home Services with integrity, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset

Safety & Documentation

  • Follow NEC, OSHA, PPE, lockout/tagout, and company safety protocols
  • Ensure completed work complies with applicable electrical codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and material tracking
  • Keep vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites clean, organized, and safe

What You Bring

  • Current Texas Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
  • Residential electrical service experience strongly preferred
  • Light commercial service experience is a plus
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass drug and background checks
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and safety protocols
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to diagnose problems and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workflow
  • Ability to mentor and work effectively with apprentices and other team members
  • Basic comfort with mobile technology and computers
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and follow all safety protocols

Compensation

  • Guaranteed Pay: Guaranteed earnings during your first 90 days while training and ramping into commission
  • Commission Plan: $75,000–$120,000+ annual earning potential
  • Signing & Retention Bonus: Up to $5,000 in milestone-based bonus opportunities
  • Bonus installments are earned at established employment milestones and are subject to continued employment and the eligibility requirements outlined in the offer letter
