Magnolia Plumbing, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Special Projects Estimator to join our team. This position is responsible for estimating plumbing and mechanical projects, including retrofit, plan and specification, and design-build work. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates, review project documents, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and support project planning from bid through turnover.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates for plumbing and mechanical construction projects.
- Review architectural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs using digital estimating software.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and job walks as needed.
- Develop scopes of work, proposals, and bid packages.
- Recommend value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Field Operations, and the Estimating Team during project turnover.
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation.
- Support negotiated and competitive bid opportunities while meeting project deadlines.
Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in plumbing, mechanical, or commercial construction.
- Experience with plan and specification projects, retrofit work, and design-build projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
- Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Trimble, QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, or similar programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, labor productivity, material pricing, and subcontractor coordination.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
