What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a motivated Designer 1 to support the design and development of food processing equipment through 3D modeling at our Idaho Falls location. Working under the direction of senior designers and engineers, you'll build on your foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles by modifying existing designs and creating simple assemblies. This is a great fit for someone early in their design career who is eager to learn and grow within a supportive engineering team.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and dependable, communicates clearly, and is comfortable multitasking across several projects while following shop safety practices and maintaining professional relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Job Responsibilities
- Modify existing designs based on engineering specifications and direction
- Create simple assemblies using 3D modeling software
- Work under the direction of senior designers or engineers
- Create 3D models and assemblies to support the design of equipment
- Multitask across several projects concurrently in a timely and professional manner
- Travel when needed
- Understand and follow all shop safety practices
- Maintain healthy relationships with the community, customers, vendors, competitors, and co-workers
Desired Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, required
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices
- Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D modeling software) and its applications
- Good computer skills and a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Good verbal and written communication skills
