Acts as a liaison between clinical staff, behavioral health crisis care programs, psychiatric care facilities, and public officials. In this role, the assistant ensures effective interdisciplinary collaboration for each behavioral health crisis encounter while adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and legal requirements. If you are looking for a career where you can make a difference, we have a place for you on our team.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  1.    Demonstrate understanding of legal guidelines related to behavioral health crisis encounters and department policies and procedures. 2.    Review incoming documentation and determine appropriate classification to be entered into the electronic medical record whilst preserving patient confidentiality. 3.    Identify patients under involuntary detention and protective custody, submitting required documentation to the appropriate care professionals and legal parties, while strictly adhering to Idaho Statutes & Code. 4.    Generate accurate reports reviewing behavioral health encounters, verifying all related documentation is received, complete, and properly documented within the electronic medical record. 5.    Facilitate effective communication between involved parties, ensuring each patient’s continuity of care is maintained and applicable legal processes are followed.  6.    Provide a variety of information about department operations, policies, and procedures to support clinical staff with behavioral health encounters. 7.    Perform additional duties as necessary to promote operational efficacy of the department.
