DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Grand Teton Surgical Center medical receptionist job description. Orients, mentors and signs off on new staff members. Create, update and maintain yearly competency training for all front desk staff. Complete monthly scheduling that are fair and balanced.  Work with front desk staff for vacation requests and assist to find coverage for shifts as needed. Update and maintain Grand Teton Surgical Center policies & procedures and protocols as needed. Be active in process improvement projects as designed by the Grand Teton Surgical Center Manager. Resolve concerns, & conflicts within the front desk area & provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas on the facility process. Keeps a record of all cases performed in the facility and then relates those numbers to the appropriate individual. Act as a point of contact for providers concerning their area or responsibility. Perform 90 day reviews for new front desk staff and perform regular reviews for all front desk staff. Complete front desk staff employee evaluations. Keep all front desk staff up to date on changes in procedures, billing, check in process, insurance and anything else to promote smooth operation of Grand Teton Surgical Center front desk admissions. Attend assigned meetings as scheduled. Lead front desk staff by example in all manner of providing patient care, admissions of patients, general attitude and professionalism. The employee is required to comply with all PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for payment card acceptance and security. Maintains Current BLS certification. Valid driver’s license. Experience:   Customer service experience.  Previous experience in a doctor’s office or other medical office is required. Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required. Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate effectively in English.  Bilingual is a plus.  Must understand medical terminology. Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs. Mental Capabilities:  Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments.  Must be organized, able to multi-task, and be a critical thinker. Interpersonal:  Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others.  Team player and flexible.        Performance:  Can work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines.  Good customer service skills. Is knowledgeable in contracted insurance plans and procedures.  Requires compliance to all hospital policies and procedures including standards of confidentiality, safety, and conduct.
