Schedule:  Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. | No weekends  
Compensation: Based on experience

Grand Peaks is a community health center providing medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. We’re seeking a dependable, organized Billing Specialist to support the billing process, including insurance claims, payment posting, account follow-up, and billing-related issues. This position will primarily support behavioral health billing, with the opportunity to assist with medical billing as needed.  


Job Duties:

  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims, including correcting and resubmitting denied or aging claims.
  • Review patient and insurance accounts, monitor outstanding balances and claims, and follow up as needed.
  • Post insurance and patient payments and maintain accurate account records.
  • Prepare and send patient statements and respond to billing questions from patients, staff, and insurance companies.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, claim issues, and account balances.
  • Stay current with changes in billing requirements, payer guidelines, and industry practices and adapt as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or billing, with previous behavioral health or medical billing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of business office procedures and proficiency with computers and common office equipment, including multi-line telephone systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly and professionally, and work effectively with patients, coworkers, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage work accurately and efficiently.
