Responsibilities include operational and capital budgets, quality control and improvement, program development and departmental education.  Responsible for maintaining relationships with management, other hospital department managers, and contracted/consulting providers. If you are looking for a career where you can make a difference, we have a place for you on our team.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  1.    Able to effectively perform the duties of all supervised registered nursing roles in the department. 2.    Ensures appropriate staffing for optimal unit efficiency and patient care.  3.    Provide direct oversight for all MedSurg leadership to ensure optimal productivity and safe patient care.  4.    Create, complete, and report on quality and performance measures and other facility driven initiatives.  5.    Create, interpret, and champion hospital and department policies, procedures, and processes in conjunction with interdisciplinary team. 6.    Ensure quality of care and performance standards are met while providing a safe and effective patient and staff environment. 7.    Responsible for interdepartmental and interdisciplinary coordination related to the Med Surg unit. 8.    Monitor department measures on a regular basis to evaluate important clinical and financial data points. 9.    Responsible for annual operational departmental budget, taking into consideration historical data, quality measures, and hospital and unit goals. 10.    Investigate capital budget requests from physicians or staff.  Determine the appropriate equipment, vendors, and price in conjunction with administration and procurement services.  BENEFITS:   Taking care for our community starts with taking care of our own team.
