Responsibilities: 

  • Performs reviews of what-ifs, hazard and operability analysis, fault trees, event trees, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEAs), reliability analyses, fire hazard analyses, criticality analyses and consequence analyses.
  • Lead Licensing teams on Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) Summary development.
  • Performs safety analysis and integrate the ISA summary with engineering documents to ensure proper implementation of the license application.
  • Maintains training and knowledge of all existing and proposed changes in regulations in the areas of nuclear safety.
  • Perform independent reviews of nuclear safety evaluations.
  • Mentor of less experienced Nuclear Safety Analysts and Analysts In-Training on all aspects of nuclear safety.
  • Manage the evaluation and integration of safety principles of IROFS designs.
  • Evaluate design changes against license applications per 10CFR70 requirements.
  • Coordinate with various departments to maintain the Integrated Schedule.
  • Manage Process Hazard Analysis, Criticality Hazard Analysis, Fire Hazard Analysis, and External Hazard Analysis to support license applications.
  • Develop Nuclear Safety Programs, plans, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations and safety standards.

 

Requirements: 

  • BA/BS Degree plus 10 years of direct experience required, or MS with 0 - 5 years' experience.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS Degree in a technical discipline, plus 18 years plus of direct experience required, or an MS with 15 years' experience.
  • Experience with NRC 10CDR70 Regulations.
  • Experience with interpreting data from RADTRAN, ALOHA, MACCS, & RASCAL 

 

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • BGS office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This position is part-time, work hours are based on project needs.
  • Remote.
