Maintenance Associate

Title: Maintenance Associate, Full-time 

Reports to: Business Manager and/or Pastor

Overview

Ave Maria Parish is seeking a fullt-me Maintenance Associate. This role is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of maintenance for the parish buildings and property and ensures all interiors and exteriors are clean, well maintained and safe.This position requires the following skills:

Job Responsibilities

• Building maintenance including cleaning and sanitization.
• Performs routine electrical, lighting, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Air Conditioner preventive maintenance.
• Fulfilling maintenance requests daily.
• Coordinating contracted vendors.
• Develops contracts and oversees work performed by outside contractors.
• Provides general oversight of all contracts and activities pertaining to plant operations including routine maintenance, new construction, renovation, remodeling, and special services.
• Assists with campus fire/security operations.
• Responds to security and emergency calls 24hrs/day.
• Performs record-keeping activities including but not limited to; materials database, vendor database, physical plant preventative maintenance log, HVAC equipment/maintenance log, daily building inspections, utility logs, outstanding activities log, and monthly activity report.
• Evaluates maintenance/cleaning products and equipment and maintains adequate supplies, equipment, and materials for maintenance and care of the facility.
• Coordinates and assists with special projects and events as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Plumbing or electric license desired
• Ability to communicate clearly with vendors, staff, and parishioners
• Working knowledge of building equipment
• Understanding of safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull continuously throughout day
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass a DOV assigned post offer physical exam
