Job DetailsJob Location: Independence, KS 67301Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 1st ShiftJob Category: DOT - Safety Sensitive PositionSUMMARY: The Quality Inspector I is responsible for conducting inspections of aviation accessories in accordance with the current technical data provided in the Component Maintenance Manuals, Services Bulletins, Service Information Letters, Airworthiness Directives, Regulations and Quality procedures acceptable to or approved by the FAA. This role supports the integrity of accessories by performing detailed inspections and working with internal teams to maintain quality standards.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct thorough inspections of aviation accessories to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, industry standards, and company quality assurance procedures. Perform detailed inspections of incoming & in-process accessories to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards. Use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to inspect parts and assemblies for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications. Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Review and interpret technical documents/drawings and QAPs to ensure accurate inspections. Communicate any findings with designated trainer and/or supervisor. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma or GED equivalent. 2+ years of relevant/technical work experience. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (micrometers & calipers) and basic inspection techniques. Ability to read and interpret technical documents/drawings and QAPs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Demonstrated track record of dependability and accountability. Ability to work effectively within a team environment. Maintain a positive attitude, show resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to meet vision standards for near and distance visual acuity. Must understand, read, and write English.   PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s degree. 3+ years of experience in quality inspection in aviation industry with a focus on MRO. Knowledge of quality management systems.   OTHER:  The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
