As a Certified Peer Mobile Response Specialist, you will provide mobile crisis response services, support individuals and families during times of need, conduct assessments alongside clinical team members, and promote person-centered recovery practices. You will serve as a trusted peer support professional, helping individuals identify strengths, build coping skills, access resources, and move toward greater stability and wellness in a trauma-informed environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mobile crisis response services and on-call support alongside a Qualified Mental Health Professional
- Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
- Build supportive, recovery-oriented relationships that promote hope, empowerment, and resilience
- Assist individuals in identifying strengths, setting recovery goals, and developing strategies to overcome barriers
- Support clients in developing healthy coping skills for managing mental health and substance use challenges
- Encourage the use of family, community, and natural support systems to strengthen long-term recovery
- Deliver person-centered services that align with each individual's goals, preferences, and recovery journey
- Create a trauma-informed environment that emphasizes safety, respect, and client empowerment
- Provide crisis support through in-person and telephone contacts across various crisis service programs
- Attend required meetings, trainings, supervision sessions, and professional development activities
- Complete documentation accurately and within established deadlines
- Review, understand, and follow the ACI Four Core Competencies
- Perform other duties as assigned by Crisis Services Leadership
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
- Must be a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Self-identify as a present or former recipient of mental health or substance use services, or as a person in recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder
- Knowledge of recovery principles, peer support practices, and person-centered care
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record
- Must successfully pass a background check or qualify for an approved exception if applicable
- Must complete the Missouri Peer Specialist application process through Missouri Peer Specialist Program
- If required, must attain completion of the five-day basic training program and pass a State of Missouri-approved certification examination within three (3) months
- Ability to work overnight weekday shifts and respond to mobile crisis situations
- Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and consumer-focused services
