Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 yr DOE 

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze composites - Physical and chemical
  • Operation of analytical equipment such as HPLC, FTIR
  • Managing the calibration of glass wares and the instruments and maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Familiarity/Operation of instruments such as ICP/OES, Leco, pH, XRF, MFR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, TMA, DMA, GC/MS, hardness meters, analytical balances, etc.
  • Coordinating with the other technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule
  • Manage verification and calibration of instruments.

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will need :

  • Associates degree or higher in Chemistry or equivalent, and/or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working overtime hours, if required or necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and listening ability to communicate effectively with peers, superiors, customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory.

 

NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
