DGL is looking for an entry level civil engineer to enhance the qualifications of our rapidly expanding Site Development Department. As a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, success in this position will require an individual to use prescribed methods, standard techniques and practices to perform various engineering assignments. ā¢Ā Ā Ā Reports to Development Project Managers
ā¢Ā Ā Ā 0-3 years of previous experience in civil design engineeringĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Full-time, Non-Exempt
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Assist Development Team with production duties such as design, plan preparation and bid documentsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Perform technical engineering work associated with land development and/or water resources: Stormwater Management Design, Site Grading, Erosion and Sediment Control Design
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Complete various land development and environmental permitting applications
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Perform engineering calculations and prepare plans/specifications in accordance with project requirements for agency/municipal review
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Keep direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concernsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Communicate with project leaders to gain a thorough understanding of project scope and coordinate with engineers on project requirementsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Review shop drawings, RFIs and assist with responses to other construction questions
SKILL SET
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Ability to read and understand blueprints and contract specificationsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Experience in stormwater management design, site grading, erosion and sediment control design and building code permitting processes
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Proficiency with computer-based design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, REVIT) & familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to interact professionally with coworkers, clients, contractors and management
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Ability to work and balance priorities amongst multiple projectsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Outgoing, self-motivated team playerĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Proven success in delivering high quality project submittalsĀ
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Valid Driverās License required - some tasks may require travel. Time and mileage would be reimbursed (at current DOT mileage rates) based on current policies.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Bachelorās Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required
ā¢Ā Ā Ā Engineering Intern (E.I.) Certification preferred, or in progress with ability to gain certification within 6 months of employment
