Job DetailsJob Location: Independence, KS 67301Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 1st ShiftJob Category: DOT - Safety Sensitive PositionSUMMARY: The CMM Operator & Programmer I is responsible for developing programs used to inspect and verify parts and components. Programmers must ensure accuracy by understanding GD&T, blueprints, and appropriate technical data. Knowledge and proficiency of Calypso is required. The programmer will also work with internal teams to maintain and further develop part programs.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operate CMM equipment to inspect and measure precision aerospace components and assemblies. Interpret technical data to perform accurate inspections. Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of components and assemblies. Develop and write CMM inspection programs using Zeiss Calypso or similar software. Maintain proper documentation, including detailed reports and records. Identify and report non-conformities and work with other departments to address issues. Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and throughput. Ensure CMM equipment is properly calibrated and maintained for accurate measurements. Perform daily machine maintenance (PMs). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Adhere to aerospace industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 in all inspection processes. Other duties as assigned.   QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Associates degree 2 years of previous CMM experience OR an additional 2 years of specific experience in lieu of degree. Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and inspection techniques. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong Attention to detail.   PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Experience with CMM software (such as PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or equivalent). Knowledge of GD&T principles. Previous experience in an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment.   OTHER:  The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
