POSITION INFORMATION
As a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, success in this position will require the ability to coordinate all aspects of construction management, administration, and inspection services as necessary. DGL is looking for a well-rounded Senior Construction Engineer to enhance the qualifications of our Construction Management Department.
⢠Reports to Director of Technical Services
⢠Full-time, Non-Exempt
⢠4-8 years of previous experience in construction engineering
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to the following:
⢠Work under supervision of a Project Manager or Senior-level Team Members
⢠Serve as Resident Engineer and/or Project Inspector on construction projects
⢠Communicate with Department leaders for understanding of project scope
⢠Oversee daily inspection of work performed by the contractor
⢠Record daily construction activities, quantities, contractorās equipment and on-site personnel
⢠Scheduling and facilitating construction progress meetings
⢠Review/approve contractorās shop drawing submittals
⢠Monitor overall project budget and review/approve contractorās pay requests prior to submitting to owner for payment
⢠Review/approve contractorās change orders
⢠Schedule and review material testing and make sure results are per project requirements and specifications
⢠Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors on project requirements
⢠Provide survey support as necessary
⢠Provide civil engineering design and drafting support (Bridge/Site/Roadway/Traffic) as necessary
⢠Obtain and maintain safety certifications and client pre-qualifications (ODOT/OTIC)
SKILL SET
⢠Experience with applicable computer software (Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Primavera P6 Scheduling, AASHTOWare, GoFormz, etc.)
⢠Obtain and maintain ODOT/OTIC construction related pre-qualifications based on agency requirements (Construction Engineer Level 1, Construction Engineer Level 2, Project Inspector, Project Structure Inspector, Coatings Inspector, Traffic & Lighting Inspector)
⢠Strong written and verbal communication skills
⢠Proven success in delivering high quality project submittals
⢠Must be well organized
⢠Professional demeanor
⢠Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people
⢠Valid Driverās License required with a favorable driverās record
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
⢠Bachelorās Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology from ABET Accredited Institution
⢠ODOT/OTIC construction pre-qualifications are required
