Position Summary:

The basic function of the Painter is to mix, prepare, and apply atomized paint, ink or other coating agents to products or materials to aesthetically enhance and/or provide corrosion resistance per manufacturing and NADCAP requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints,      sketches, or specifications to determine prepping /deprepping
  • Mixes paints and inks with proper thinner solution to obtain correct consistency for application. (touch ups )
  • Applies paint in accordance with product requirements.
  • Masks parts and cleans parts
  • Selects holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials for proper application of paints.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
  • Uses proper safety equipment including turning on fans and wearing respirators, gloves, safety glasses.
  • Performs clean up on equipment with solvents at end of run or when using different materials.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve prepping and de-prepping problems.
  • Performs any other related or unrelated task that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Complete all applicable quality forms. QC form #222 Paint Test Log, QC form #253 Paint Prep Sheet, QC form #254 Coating Record Sheet, and QC Form 261 Misc. Oven Log per Quality Work Instruction WI08032.
  • Follow all NADCAP requirements.
  • Able to read calipers.
  • Maintain the 6S at all times ( sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety )
