Responsibilities
Â
Safety is our top priority at Eastman. As a loading technician, you will contribute to operational excellence by ensuring safe and reliable material transfers, DOT shipping compliance, environmental compliance, and customer satisfaction. Â Loading technicians are responsible for safely loading tank trucks, railcars, and ISO containers. Communication and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to take initiative and act with integrity.

This position directly reports to the Team Manager. Â This role follows a day shift, rotating schedule that includes required weekends. Individuals in this role will be required to work overtime on some off days.
Â
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Â
- Maintain a continuous focus on safe work practices and optimal plant performance for assigned areaÂ
- Safely operate loading equipment, including pumps, totalizer meters, and other plant equipment within safe operating ranges using proper PPEÂ
- Monitor tank levels, displays, and instrumentation; safely and quickly respond to issuesÂ
- Ability to handle stressful situations and react promptly and safelyÂ
- Safely start up, shut down, and adjust operations processes  Â
- Climb ladders to access equipment and vesselsÂ
- Draw product samples for lab testingÂ
- Reject trucks if requirements dictate
- Perform minor maintenance work on equipmentÂ
- Initiate work permits Â
- Active participation and compliance with the site Total Safety ProcessÂ
- Participation on the site fire crew and the site rescue crew, if neededÂ

Qualifications
Â
- Associate’s degree or certification in Process Technology or Advanced Manufacturing (or related field) OR high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing role
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to complete the training program requirements and pass the required testingÂ
- Must be able to complete trackmobile railcar mover and groundman railcar switching trainingÂ
- Basic computer skills required. SAP experience is a plus.
- Must have a Zero-Incident safety mindset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipmentÂ
- Experience with CFR.49 is a plusÂ
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team playerÂ
- Good oral and written communication skills. Must be a strong listener with the ability to follow instructions.Â
Physical RequirementsÂ
- Must be able to wear all required PPE, including flame-retardant clothing, chemical splash suit, and full-faced respiratorÂ
- Willing to work outdoors in less than ideal weather conditionsÂ
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights above 100 ft. with appropriate safety equipmentÂ
- Ability to squat, bend, reach, and enter confined spaces
- Must be able to lift heavy items, occasionally up to 50 poundsÂ
