ERG is seeking a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician with mid- to senior-level experience to assist with facilities projects for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. In this role you will perform HVAC Maintenance support such as, assisting with HVAC installations, routine maintenance, repair and troubles hooting related to mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage controls. The position is based out of a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland. The ideal candidate should be capable of scoping, estimating, and planning for minor HVAC repair projects and must be motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.Â
This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG’s Fairfax and Arlington offices. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA. Â
\n- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling unitsÂ
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systemsÂ
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, package rooftops, split systems, controls, pumps, VAVsÂ
- Support the full life cycle of small-scale projects from initial concept design through project completionÂ
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, digital controls, and other mechanical systemsÂ
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with facilities and equipment, and repair or replace defective parts as neededÂ
- Respond to emergency maintenance requestsÂ
- Conduct site visits to document existing facility conditions and develop new requirementsÂ
- Prepare technical memoranda/reports to document facility conditions and project statusÂ
- Ensure that all facilities are in compliance with applicable codes and regulationsÂ
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities and administrative tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inventory, and time sheetsÂ
- At least 2 years of HVAC experience and current Journeyman licensureÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferredÂ
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant Reclamation and Recovery CertificationÂ
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprintsÂ
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systemsÂ
- Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniquesÂ
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) requiredÂ
- Familiarity with state and local building codes, OSHA regulations, and NFPA standards a plusÂ
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamÂ
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access AuthorizationsÂ
- This position will require a pre-employment physical examÂ
- This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 poundsÂ
- Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing, and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals) You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programsÂ
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shiftsÂ
- Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items aroundÂ
- Must be able to go up and down stairs. (where applicable)Â
