Barton Mines Company is hiring a full-time Millwright for our North Creek, NY operation. 

Founded in 1878, Barton Mines Company is a family-owned producer of high-quality garnet abrasives used in industrial and commercial applications worldwide. Our North Creek team supports a long-standing Adirondack operation built on safety, reliability, teamwork, and pride in doing the job right.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, fabrication, and installation of industrial equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to safely install, align, and secure machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support reliable production through preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Use welding, fabrication, rigging, and mechanical skills to complete repairs and equipment improvements.
• Follow safety procedures, use required PPE, and work cooperatively with operations and maintenance team members.

This position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with overtime required as necessary.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on industrial maintenance skills.
• Clean driver’s license.
• Five years of industrial machine maintenance, repair, and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Two years of professional welding experience.
• Vocational or technical training in a skilled trades field.
• New York State Plant Maintenance Mechanic Certification.
