Overview

Position Summary:

The Pool Attendant is responsible for providing professional and courteous service to each and every guest. They will be responsible for exceeding guest expectations through positive interactive skills.

 

Hourly Rate: $16.90/hr. 

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • A warm personality, attentive, and presentable.
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Responds courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests, and all staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining general cleanliness of daybeds, cabanas and their surrounding area.
  • Ensures supplies and table set-ups are completed in pool area.
  • Coordinates food order(s). Delivers and arranges food on tables according to departmental service standards. Provides guests with any information concerning prepared meal.
  • Greets guest(s) with appropriate salutation, e.g., “Good Morning/Good Evening, Mr. Smith”.
  • Presents check to guest when service is completed.
  • Upon leaving the pool area, thanks guest by surname.
  • Works closely with management team to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to pool guests.
  • Ensures that daybeds, cabanas and surrounding areas are cleaned out at the end of each day, to include removing dishes, food, and trash.
  • Removes pool towels and rafts and returns them to towel distribution area upon guest departure.
  • Ensures the overall safety of guests in pool area. Notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair, i.e., misting system, refrigerator, TV, telephones, curtains, etc.
  • Respects the privacy and anonymity of any guests that may utilize the cabanas.
  • Assists management as necessary.
  • Performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Prerequisites:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be mature, pleasant, courteous, cooperative and an enthusiastic team player who displays good human relations’ skills.
  • Must be flexible in working hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Previous experience with money handling and conducting sales of merchandise.
  • Previous food serving experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in seasonal heat or cold as well as inclement weather.
  • Ability to carry heavy food trays in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to enforce rules in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Good public relations skills with a good personality, enjoying opportunities to work with and assist people and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, vendors and team members while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Stand and move throughout the pool area, carry one lounge chair at one time the entire length of the pool deck.
  • Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, with particular attention to detail.
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High School diploma and equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Must be 21 years of age at the time of hire.
