The Bartender is responsible for greeting customers, taking drink/food orders, mixing ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks, as well as serving beer and other beverages, and completing transactions. Essential duties include assisting and approaching guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner, learning guests' names and preferences, performing cashier duties, setting up and cleaning the bar, completing side-work such as stocking and organizing supplies, being knowledgeable about menu items and beverages, utilizing suggestive selling techniques, maintaining up-to-date alcohol serving certification, adhering to liquor laws, checking orders for accuracy, maintaining beverage cost control, taking inventory and requisitioning supplies, handling guest transactions via POS system, pre-bussing and bussing tables, attending meetings and training, and complying with legal age requirements and company policies. The role requires maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, regular attendance, and performing other duties as requested. Desired competencies include quality of work, productivity, customer service skills, initiative, and accountability. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED, preferred bartender school completion, and at least one year of bartending experience. Physical demands include standing/walking for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. The work environment is temperature controlled with natural and artificial light, with possible outdoor exposure.
