The Electrician III provides general electrical construction and maintenance services for Franciscan hospital facilities under the direction of engineering management. This position assesses, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and repairs facility electrical components requiring repair, replacement, or new installation. This position performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, building standards, and hospital policies. The Electrician III operates, maintains, repairs, and installs electrical circuits, equipment, and apparatus, to provide a comfortable and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm (some on call hours as needed)
Assist in facility electrical systems management including PM development, budgeting, system assessments, and life cycle planning.
Diagnose malfunctions in facility electrical equipment, systems, or electrical components, and take appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain appropriate documentation for the facility’s electrical equipment, systems, and electrical components.
Maintain the computerized maintenance management system through the appropriate completion of work orders and the recording of equipment history.
Provide quality control for new installations or replacements of facility electrical equipment, systems, and electrical components performed by others.
Respond to emergency situations, such as an electrical outage, ruptured pipe, fires or other hospital codes, per hospital and department emergency response plans.
System analysis and function include, but are not limited to: main electric service feeds, switches, transformers, breakers, distribution panels, generators, automatic transfer switches, motors, variable frequency drives, uninterruptable power supplies, lighting, battery lights, outlets, various alarm systems, building fire alarm system, building automatic fire suppression systems, and pneumatic tube system.
QUALIFICIATIONS
Associate degree in construction, electrical, or electronics field of study required OR High School Diploma with Master Electrician Certification/electrical vocational training required
5 years of experience in electrical field required
3 years of hospital maintenance, construction, or mechanical system experience preferred
Master Electrician License required within 1 year of hire
Journeyman license or electrical certificate required
