Job Summary:

Renaissance Benefits is seeking an experienced Actuary to join our growing team!

At Renaissance, Associate Actuary serves as a key analytical and strategic contributor within the actuarial function. This role leads complex actuarial and statistical analyses that inform product strategy, pricing, underwriting, financial performance, and enterprise‑level decision‑making. The Associate Actuary develops and enhances rating methodologies, oversees advanced data modeling efforts, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of actuarial deliverables. This position supports continued progression toward ASA/FSA credentials, with full participation in the actuarial development program.

What will this role entail?

  • Leads sophisticated actuarial analysis across forecasting, rate development, fee schedules, bureau filing, and budgeting, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Serves as a subject‑matter expert for new product development, evaluating benefit designs, pricing strategies, underwriting assumptions, and market competitiveness. Partners closely with underwriting to address complex or atypical rating scenarios.

  • Interprets and communicates actuarial insights to internal and external stakeholders, including emerging claims trends, liabilities, receivables, group performance, and experience studies. Ensures timely execution of advanced reports and analyses.

  • Provides strategic actuarial support for major sales opportunities, proposals, and renewals, ensuring competitive, data‑driven recommendations that align with risk and profitability frameworks.

  • Guides and mentors others in actuarial and underwriting functions, contributing to development of rating formulas, factor calculations, and enterprise modeling standards. May lead components of broader actuarial projects or initiatives.

  • Drives specialized analytical projects, applying advanced modeling, programming, and actuarial techniques to improve operational efficiency and decision‑making.

  • Completes specialized projects and assignments as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.

  • Completion of multiple SOA actuarial exams; active pursuit of ASA credential required.

  • 3–5 years of progressive actuarial experience in pricing, underwriting, forecasting, or related analysis.

  • Proficiency with advanced data tools, programming languages, and modeling techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical rigor, and ability to communicate complex results clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage work, contribute strategic insight, and solve complex problems.

  • Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.

Base Salary Range: $110,000-125,000
