This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.Ā 


Scope:

The Warehouse Team Leader facilitates the successful workflow of the shift and cascades direction from the Warehouse Supervisor. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to all assigned personnel in assigned area of the warehouse and helps coordinate the activities of the assigned area. Capable of efficiently operating all PIT equipment in all areas of the department. Facilitates communication between assigned warehouse employees to ensure productivity metrics are met and maintains documentation with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Ā Furthermore, they are accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory to ensure that Heartland FPG’s operations perform above industry standard.Ā 


Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes safety and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times; including accurate completion of all pre-shift equipment checks
  • Utilizes all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points
  • Able to operate all PIT equipment in the department, provides coverage for all assigned team members in case of absences
  • Communicates with Warehouse Supervisor/Operations Manager to plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and picking/loading sequences to meet warehouse goals. Interprets directives given by Warehouse SupervisorĀ 
  • Proactively and positively communicates with operational counterparts to ensure product availability
  • Assists with employee training
  • Ensures overall quality through accurate inventory transactions and material movements
  • Safely performs routine care and maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment and notifies Warehouse Supervisor when major service is required
  • Able to complete cycle counts and can perform basic inventory control processes/procedures
  • Must keep a professional and positive demeanor with all Heartland FPG employees and customers
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years in a previous leadership role preferred
  • Must be at the skill level of a Warehouse Specialist or equivalent experienceĀ 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and coach employees
  • Demonstrated record of leading successful change with measurable results
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a group
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
  • Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills

Physical Demands:Ā 

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motionsĀ 
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekendĀ 
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company recordsĀ 
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
