Summary
The Provider Compensation Financial Expert Advisor serves as the enterprise-wide strategic leader and subject matter expert for physician and advanced practice provider compensation across IU Health's employed provider enterprise of more than 4,350 providers. This role is responsible for guiding the design, governance, administration, financial oversight, and regulatory compliance of compensation programs that support organizational priorities, physician engagement, workforce sustainability, and the delivery of high-quality patient care. Partnering closely with executive leadership, physician leaders, Finance, Legal, Human Resources, and Operations, the Expert Advisor develops and evolves compensation strategies that align provider incentives with organizational goals related to access, quality, productivity, growth, operational performance, and value-based care. The role provides thought leadership on compensation market trends, benchmarking, emerging payment models, workforce strategy, and complex regulatory considerations, ensuring compensation programs remain competitive, compliant, and financially sustainable while supporting organizational transformation initiatives. As a trusted advisor to senior executive and physician leadership, the Expert Advisor leads highly complex analyses and develops executive-level reporting, financial models, business cases, and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making. The role evaluates provider compensation performance, assesses financial and operational impacts, identifies risks and opportunities, and translates complex data into actionable insights that drive organizational outcomes. This position leads the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of provider compensation programs and initiatives with enterprise-wide impact. Success requires strong influence and relationship management skills, as the role routinely leads cross-functional teams, builds consensus among diverse stakeholders, and drives change without direct authority. The Expert Advisor serves as a key resource for organizational leaders, provides specialized expertise across the enterprise, and promotes alignment between provider compensation strategy, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and IU Health's long-term strategic objectives.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
6–8 years of progressive experience in physician compensation, healthcare consulting, or healthcare finance, including 5 years advising senior healthcare executives and physician leadership.
Extensive knowledge of physician compensation methodologies, physician productivity metrics (e.g., wRVUs), and healthcare financial management.
Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements affecting physician compensation (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute).
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, data interpretation, and compensation modeling.
Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Deep understanding of work RVU (wRVU) methodologies, physician productivity metrics, and value-based compensation models.
Advanced expertise in physician compensation strategy and governance.
Strong business acumen and financial modeling capabilities.
Ability to influence executive and physician stakeholders in complex environments.
Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead organizational change.
