Summary
The Demand Manager Advisor provides process guidance, structure, and enablement for the demand intake and governance workflow. This role focuses on ensuring the demand process is clearly defined, consistently followed, well documented, and continuously improved so stakeholders understand how to submit, evaluate, route, and advance requests through the appropriate decision points.
Develop and promote effective Information Technology portfolio management strategies across the full range of technology assets used within the organization. Leads the ongoing definition and refinement of the IS portfolio, aligning it with the health system's evolving strategic goals and priorities. Partners with business and IS leadership to communicate portfolio goals, objectives, and potential outcomes, fostering a shared vision for value realization. Directs the creation and maintenance of required portfolio documentation and artifacts, including performance dashboards and reports. Monitors and coordinates dependencies across projects and programs within the portfolio, and resolves conflicts to ensure smooth execution. Apply Lean techniques to continuously optimize the portfolio, focusing on delivering maximum value with minimal consumption of resources. Develops and monitors the portfolio budget, ensuring investments deliver value within agreed spending plans.
Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred).
- Requires 6-8 or more years of experience in IT business/industry, preferably within a large healthcare system.
- PMP certification (preferred).

Responsibilities
- Define, document, and maintain the end-to-end demand intake process, including entry criteria, required fields, review steps, decision points, handoffs, and closure expectations.
- Advise stakeholders on how to follow the demand process, including what information is needed, where requests should be submitted, and which process path applies.
- Develop and maintain process standards, templates, job aids, intake guidance, and governance-ready documentation to improve consistency and reduce rework.
- Facilitate process readiness activities for review forums by confirming requests meet intake requirements, process checkpoints, and documentation standards.
- Monitor process adherence and identify where requests are stalled, misrouted, incomplete, or missing required information.
- Analyze recurring process issues, intake defects, handoff gaps, and stakeholder pain points to recommend workflow improvements.
- Partner with portfolio, finance, architecture, security, operations, and delivery teams to clarify process roles, routing rules, escalation paths, and required approvals.
- Support process reporting by providing insights on intake quality, cycle time, aging, bottlenecks, rework drivers, and process improvement opportunities.
- Experience supporting process design, process governance, workflow documentation, intake management, IT service management, portfolio operations, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of how business requests move through defined intake, review, routing, approval, and transition-to-delivery processes.
- Ability to document complex workflows in a clear, structured, and user-friendly way for both operational teams and stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation, communication, process mapping, stakeholder education, and continuous improvement skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret process data, identify bottlenecks, and recommend practical improvements.
Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, workflow management platforms, reporting dashboards, or similar intake and governance systems is preferred.
