Position Summary:

The Assistant Chief Project Engineer (ACPE) engineer will lead a team of Systems Engineers and Development Engineers. The ACPE will provide technical program management and systems engineering leadership to an extended, multi-functional engineering team that delivers engineering solutions and program milestones for LibertyWorks' projects and products.

What you will be doing:

Here you’ll have the opportunity to work on the following:

  • Provide technical, project, and systems engineering leadership to a multi-functional team that delivers engineering solutions for development projects, root-cause investigations, and corrective action implementation
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude, business acumen, and program management knowledge as needed to represent the Chief Project Engineer.
  • Lead customer and internal technical reviews. Participate in PILM, Risk Management, Design Technical Approval (DTA) and Product Change Board (PCB) reviews/meetings
  • Provide oversight of technical risk identification and mitigation per Defense Standard Processes and tools
  • Provide technical oversight in generation and maintenance of the program integrated master schedule
  • Lead planning, management, and delivery of technology test and development activities required to mitigate risk and satisfy expectation of customer certification/qualification programs
  • Represent the engine program in technical meetings with customers, operators, and airworthiness authorities.
  • Support the business budget and resource load/capacity processes.  Identify staffing requirements including skill set, capability, schedule/timing, and number of people required to meet program needs and budgets.
  • Support proposal and BOE activities necessary to grow the Defense Business through new R&T project wins

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or
  • Master's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience or
  • JD/PhD
  • To be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance.

  • Demonstrated technical project planning and management experience and ability to lead a multifunctional engineering team
  • Experience interfacing with customers on technical program issues
  • Exceptional people and communication skills
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Gas turbine engine installation, verification, and performance experience
