About Applied Behavior Center for Autism:

At the Applied Behavior Center for Autism, our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. 



Position Overview:
The Billing Manager will oversee the daily operations of the billing department, ensuring that all billing, claims processing, and account management are carried out efficiently and accurately. This role involves supervising and training billing staff, ensuring compliance with insurance and healthcare regulations, and addressing complex billing issues. The Billing Manager will collaborate closely with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate billing processes and maintain a high level of service for clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of billing experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a healthcare, clinical, or educational setting.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $73,000 to $90,000 per year based on prior experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Claims Management:

  • Oversee the billing and claims process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims and client invoices.

  • Monitor and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and rejected claims in a timely manner.

  • Ensure compliance with insurance guidelines, industry regulations, and company policies.

  • Conduct audits of billing records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Team Supervision & Development:

  • Manage and train the billing team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

  • Review and approve billing documentation and claims prepared by team members.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to help team members grow professionally.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient team environment.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Generate and review regular billing reports, tracking key performance metrics and ensuring departmental goals are met.

  • Prepare and present billing data for leadership meetings, identifying areas for improvement or concern.

  • Ensure that billing records and client information are maintained in compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with clinical, administrative, and management teams to resolve billing-related issues and improve overall billing processes.

  • Serve as the point of contact for escalated billing issues from clients, insurance companies, and staff.

  • Communicate effectively with families and insurance providers to clarify billing details and resolve any disputes or concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.

  • Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., Certified Professional Biller - CPB) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance, HIPAA regulations, and privacy laws.

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance claims processing, and industry regulations.

  • Proficiency in billing software (QuickBooks, TriZetto, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to handle complex billing issues and collaborate with other departments for resolution.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is primarily within the Applied Behavior Center for Autism’s administrative office, focusing on managing and overseeing billing functions. This position involves office-based work with occasional interactions with other departments and clients.
