American Structurepoint is seeking a strategic, business-focused Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the company's technology vision, digital strategy, cybersecurity, data governance, artificial intelligence initiatives, enterprise technology operations, and the revenue-generating Technology Solutions Group.

As a member of the executive leadership team, the CIO will ensure technology investments support business growth, operational excellence, employee engagement, innovation, and exceptional client service. The CIO serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and is responsible for aligning technology priorities with enterprise objectives while ensuring a secure, reliable, scalable, and customer-focused technology environment.

The role provides executive oversight of the people, systems, infrastructure, applications, policies, external partnerships, and technology consulting practice that enable American Structurepoint's multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, planning, and consulting services.

Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Executive Leadership
- Develop and execute an enterprise technology strategy aligned with business goals, growth, operational performance, and client service.
- Advise executive leadership on technology investments, cybersecurity, digital transformation, data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
- Establish a multi-year technology roadmap with clear priorities, budgets, timelines, risks, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead technology governance and participate in strategic planning, acquisitions, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, hardware, software, telecommunications, collaboration platforms, and IT support.
- Ensure technology systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and responsive to employees across all locations.
- Direct business continuity, disaster recovery, data backup, system availability, and incident-response planning.
- Manage technology standards, vendors, consultants, contracts, licensing, and service-level performance.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Lead the enterprise cybersecurity strategy, including risk assessment, access management, threat prevention, monitoring, incident response, and employee awareness.
- Establish policies and controls that protect company, employee, client, and project information.
- Maintain alignment with applicable frameworks and requirements, including NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, and Zero Trust principles.
- Partner with Legal, Risk Management, Human Resources, and business leaders on privacy, regulatory, contractual, government, and cyber-insurance requirements.
- Regularly report the company’s cybersecurity posture, vulnerabilities, mitigation efforts, and risk exposure to executive leadership.
Business Applications & Digital Transformation
- Oversee the strategy, governance, integration, optimization, and lifecycle of enterprise applications and specialized AEC technologies.
- Partner with business leaders to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, improve system adoption, and increase efficiency.
- Guide digital transformation initiatives that improve employee experience, project delivery, decision-making, quality, and client service.
- Ensure technology implementations include effective change management, communication, training, and adoption plans.
Data, Analytics & Artificial Intelligence
- Establish an enterprise data strategy covering quality, ownership, accessibility, security, consistency, retention, and appropriate use.
- Expand business intelligence, executive reporting, dashboards, analytics, and KPI capabilities.
- Lead the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence through governance, policies, controls, training, risk assessment, and approved use cases.
- Identify high-value opportunities for analytics, automation, and AI while protecting confidential information.
Technology Solutions Group / IT Consulting Practice
- Provide executive oversight of the Technology Solutions Group as a revenue-generating IT consulting practice.
- Establish objectives for revenue growth, profitability, utilization, backlog, client service, delivery performance, and market positioning.
- Partner with operations, business development, and practice leaders to develop services, identify opportunities, and support proposals.
- Monitor financial and operational performance, project quality, client satisfaction, pipeline, and resource capacity.
- Guide staffing, recruiting, skills development, and resource planning while maintaining alignment with enterprise technology and security standards.
Financial & Portfolio Management
- Develop and manage enterprise technology operating and capital budgets.
- Oversee Technology Solutions Group revenue, profitability, pricing, utilization, margins, and financial reporting.
- Evaluate investments based on business value, total cost of ownership, operational impact, cybersecurity risk, and expected return.
- Maintain a prioritized portfolio of technology initiatives and report on status, cost, risk, benefits, and outcomes.
- Optimize technology spending through vendor management, system consolidation, contract improvements, and technical-debt reduction.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop technology leaders and their teams.
- Establish clear roles, goals, accountability, succession plans, workforce plans, and professional-development opportunities.
- Foster a service-oriented culture centered on collaboration, responsiveness, transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with operational leaders and employees to understand needs and improve the technology experience.
- Determine the appropriate mix of internal expertise, centralized resources, external partners, managed services, and consultants.
- Monitor technology and workforce trends affecting the AEC and professional-services industries.

Qualifications
Â
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressively responsible technology leadership experience, including significant leadership experience within a complex, multi-office organization.
- Experience leading managers, directors, and enterprise technology functions.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise technology strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Experience leading IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, data governance, and large-scale technology initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of cloud environments, enterprise architecture, systems integration, business continuity, disaster recovery, and information-security practices.
- Experience leading or overseeing revenue-generating technology consulting, professional services, or client-delivery functions with accountability for revenue, profitability, utilization, client satisfaction, and delivery performance.
- Experience managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, project portfolios, procurement, and organizational change.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technology issues, risks, and recommendations to executives and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Understanding of CAD, BIM, GIS, design, modeling, visualization, reality-capture, and other technologies used in the AEC industry is preferred.Â
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, or similar standards is preferred.Â
