DLZ Corporation currently has Construction Inspection / Observer openings in Indianapolis, IN.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all phases of field assignment to obtain and record accurate and complete data.
  • Interpret specifications, working drawings and convey intent to the contractor.
  • Basic testing, testing coordination, equipment and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform all aspects of field inspection.
  • Obtain field data as required by the plans and specifications or project staff.
  • Record all obtained field data accurately and in a legible and organized fashion.
  • Perform testing and sampling.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment as required for each job.
  • Work with project staff in charge of project on design changes.
  • Communicate with all involved entities to keep everyone fully informed.
  • Generate and compile all field reports.
  • Record daily installed construction quantities to review payment requests in terms of progress and amount completed to date.
  • Understand the public health and safety requirements and be fully trained in the proper safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree (in applicable field), plus 2 years related experience, or
  • High School Graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Proper certifications such as compaction, asphalt, concrete, aggregate or others.
  • INDOT Construction Inspection Prequalification preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
  • NICET Highway Construction Level II or Higher Certification Preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months .
  • Experience with INDOT or municipal inspection preferred
