  • Hours: Full-Time (40 hours/ week) 
  • Schedule: Tuesday - Wednesday 3pm-11:30pm, Thursday - Saturday 11pm - 7:30am
  • Starting Hourly Rate: $18.50    
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: 

Under general supervision, the Control Room Technician is responsible for monitoring of the
 electrical, mechanical, plumbing, elevators, escalators as well as being the center for security
 communications, alarms and surveillance systems. The Control Room Technician also
 provides response to the building operations system, fire alarms, parking, lighting, weather monitoring
 and other safety security and facility related issues and concerns.

A successful candidate will…   

  • Have four years of high school or equivalency 
  • Have three to five years of experience 
  • Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position
  • Able to cope with daily job-related stress and challenges.
  • Able to lift and push/pull over sixty pounds if the operating the Denka Lift                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

What does the job look like?  

  • Monitors electrical, mechanical, plumbing, elevators and escalators through use of the building technology systems. Meets HVAC Performance Standards for Control Room Technician. 
  • Under supervision, the Control Room Technician assigns work orders and dispatches vendors to repair facilities. Includes plumbing, electrical, hearing and air conditioning, roofing, doors and hardware, fire and security alarms and fire sprinkler systems. 
  • Responsible for being the center for security communications, answering telephones, radios and recommending and initiating corrective action to security system problems; dispatching officers to respond to safety and security needs. 
  • Coordinates emergency services such as police, fire and amber alerts. Provides building systems support during events. 
  • Completes daily activity log, recording all activities of the systems center and all incident reports. 
  • Documents all non-patron visitors and vendors entering the building after hours and secured areas during business hours and any security or systems changes that occur.   
  • Occasional Work Outside
  • Inspecting, setting up and operating library’s aerial lift.
  • Setting up and maintaining proper lighting, temperature and access settings for special events.
  • Issues new employee photo ID’s.
