Position Purpose of Development Data Analyst : The Development Data Analyst executes strategic analysis of the donor database to guide and execute annual fundraising and stewardship communications and outreach, including segmented targeted donor outreach. The Analyst researches and qualifies donors for increased giving, principal (major) and planned giving utilizing database analytics (translating donor behavior and responses), DonorSearch and other tools. The Analyst performs donor database audits and updates. This position partners with the Annual Fund & Stewardship Manager to increase donor retention and giving, strengthen stewardship, improve portfolio management, expand the mid-level, major, and planned giving pipelines, and support data-informed fundraising strategies. By translating donor information into meaningful insights, this role helps drive collaborative fundraising strategies and supports revenue growth for the organization. Essential Functions of Development Data Analyst:
- Analyze donor data to execute an annual stewardship plan, including segmenting donors for stewardship, appeals, campaigns, and targeted communications to aid in donor recognition, retention, increased engagement and giving, portfolio performance, and acquisition.
- Prospect research and evaluation of donor affinity, capacity and propensity to identify donors with a high likelihood of increased giving, major giving and planned giving.
- Partner with Development leadership to identify strategic opportunities and recommend data-informed approaches that improve donor acquisition, retention, reactivation, upgrades, fundraising effectiveness, and annual revenue forecasting.
- Develop donor segmentation strategies that support targeted cultivation, stewardship, annual appeals, campaigns, and personalized engagement across all giving levels.
- Partner with the Development Services Manager to support data quality initiatives.
- Provide quality assurance related to donor records, coding, and reporting, including regular database audits, data cleanup, imports, and updates to ensure data accuracy and quality.
- Develop and deliver timely and accurate reports, dashboards, and donor analytics to support fundraising performance tracking, campaign planning, and strategic decision-making.Â
- Research industry trends, benchmarking data, and emerging fundraising best practices to identify innovative strategies that enhance fundraising performance and donor engagement.
- Contribute to forecasting donor activity for budget planning, assessing the likelihood of donor retention, lapsed reactivation, upgrades, and new prospects.

Education and/or Experience of Development Data Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.Â
- Experience with database, data management, reporting, and analysis.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems preferred (Salesforce experience a plus).
- Experience utilizing DonorSearch or similar prospect research and screening tools preferred.
- Understanding of fundraising operations, donor stewardship, and principles of philanthropy preferred.
