Therefore, it is essential that all employees of Wheeler Mission Ministries have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and subscribe to our Mission, Vision, Statement of Faith, Core Values, and Qualifications for Employment upon hire and continuously while employed.  Employees are encouraged and expected to share the Gospel as opportunities arise.   Job Title: Driver Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt   Reports to: Donation Center Manager Full or Part-time: Full-Time Team:  Donation Center     Position Summary: The Donation Center (DC) Driver will pick-up donations from Wheeler drop-off sites and donors' homes.  They must be able to track all pick-ups and deliveries accurately and interact with donors in a courteous, professional, and Christian manner.  QualificationsKey Duties and Responsibilities Brief description of duties in order of priority   Key Area: Customer Service  Greet customers for donation drop-off and assist with the unloading of donations. Provide instructions for tax forms. Offer assistance to donors as needed.     Key Area: Team Collaboration Work effectively in a team environment with coworkers and volunteer groups. Maintain a safe and organized warehouse by following instructions given by managers and collaborating with team members.   Key Area: Driving 26-foot Box Truck Drive Donation truck to pick up donations Obey all traffic laws and posted road signs.                  REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:   This position has no direct reports but may occasionally supervise groups of volunteers at the donation center.   Competencies Required   Unique for this job Unique for this job   Adaptability Collaboration   Customer Focus Communicates Effectively   Emotional Intelligence Patience   Organizing Time Management     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   Education/Experience: High school diploma, GED, or HSE Verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with others.   Technical/Software Knowledge: Ability to learn how to manage time in payroll software   Mission Alignment: Belief in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible Adherence to WM Employee Policies Alignment with WM Core Values: Christ-Centered Purpose Faithful Stewardship Excellence Grace and Truth   Work Environment and Physical Requirements: To perform the essential job functions of this position, with reasonable accommodations, a candidate must be able to: Stand for long periods of time Kneel, stoop, twist, and bend-over frequently during the shift Hold and grasp donated objects when loading and unloading donations. Physical ability to perform normal office functions including sitting for prolonged periods of time and the endurance to remain standing for prolonged periods of time Frequently lift and move donations up to 50 pounds. Work in a warehouse environment that may expose workers to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and dirt. Use donation center pallet jacks. Perform manual labor indoors and outdoors.   Other Requirements for Employment A valid Indiana state-issued driver’s license and be insurable through Wheeler Mission’s provider. Conflict of Interest Policy, Confidentiality Policy, and Statement of Faith Post-offer acceptable background check required for all positions. All employees must sign and adhere to WM Drugs and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs or alcohol. Candidates must submit to and pass a drug and/or alcohol test.
