Commercial Tile Setter Foreman – Working Foreman

About Us

Jack Laurie Group has been a leader in commercial flooring solutions for over 70 years. We are known for quality craftsmanship, dependable service, and taking care of our customers and employees.

We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Tile Setter Foreman to join our team. This is a working foreman position—you will lead the crew, but you will also be setting tile alongside your team.

The right person will be an experienced commercial tile setter who is ready to take ownership of projects, lead crews of 2–8 tile setters and apprentices, manage daily workload, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience – open to negotiation for the right candidate

  • Year-round, steady work

  • Overtime opportunities available

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match

  • Paid time off and holidays

  • Opportunities for advancement and professional development

  • Long-term career opportunity with an established company

What You'll Do

  • Lead and work alongside a crew of 2–8 tile setters and apprentices

  • Install ceramic, porcelain, quarry, and natural stone tile in commercial environments

  • Lay out work and assign daily tasks based on project schedules and priorities

  • Help manage manpower, production, labor hours, material usage, and project budget

  • Monitor crew productivity and make adjustments to keep projects moving

  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project details

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, other trades, and customers

  • Prepare substrates, including leveling, waterproofing, and surface preparation

  • Measure, lay out, cut, and install tile accurately

  • Mix and apply mortar, grout, adhesives, and sealants

  • Identify jobsite issues early and communicate them to the Project Manager

  • Train and develop apprentices and less-experienced tile setters

  • Maintain quality standards and inspect completed work

  • Ensure the crew follows company and jobsite safety requirements

  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized jobsite

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of commercial tile-setting experience preferred

  • Previous Foreman, Lead Installer, or Crew Lead experience strongly preferred

  • Must be a hands-on leader who is willing and able to set tile alongside the crew

  • Strong knowledge of commercial tile installation methods and materials

  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and project plans

  • Experience laying out commercial tile projects

  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and hold a crew accountable

  • Understanding of production goals, labor hours, scheduling, and project budgets

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Willingness to work overtime when project schedules require it

This Is a Working Foreman Position

We're looking for a leader who leads from the front. This isn't a position where you stand on the sidelines and simply direct the crew.

Our Foremen set tile alongside their teams while also managing manpower, workload, production, quality, and jobsite expectations. You'll be responsible for helping your crew complete projects safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

If you're an experienced commercial tile setter who's ready to lead a crew while continuing to work in the trade, we want to talk to you.
