Job Description Summary

Responsible for facilities, maintenance, and security at the GE Aerospace Indianapolis plants. Maintaining aged equipment, installation of new equipment, facility management, and security management across all 4 Indianapolis roof tops. This role will be integral for the move from current 3 buildings to the new Indianapolis facility.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that manufacturing premises are fully operational, maintained, and clean.
  • Uses previous experience to lead a team of 3-5 employees and 15-20 contractors to maintain the facility as well as maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on older model and current technology CNC machine and support equipment.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  • Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
  • Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field
  • Responsible for security processes, procedures, and contractors at the site
  • Works closely with operations and EHS teams to resolve safety and ergonomic issues
  • Participates in budgeting and yearly capital expense planning

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years Maintenance Facilities experience
