How Will You Add ValueÂ
The Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level role in our Oligo Synthesis Team. This role is responsible for processing Oligo Synthesis orders for internal and external customers. The Laboratory Technician I will create synthesis runs, process oligo synthesis orders using liquid handlers and pipettes, perform QC workflows, and package orders for shipment to customers.Â
What You’ll Do Â
Â
Receive and sort incoming orders using established workflowsÂ
Independently operate laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettes, automated liquid handlers, spectrophotometers, mass spectrometer and centrifuges. Â
Follow SOPs accurately and precisely Â
Follow safety proceduresÂ
Handle chemical reagents and glasswareÂ
Restock lab supplies Â
Prepare and package orders Â
Maintain the cleanliness of work area Â
Other duties as assignedÂ
What You Will BringÂ
Â
HS Diploma requiredÂ
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, etc) preferredÂ
Experience in or desire to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. At least 6 months of work experience preferred. Â
Desire to learn new processes and support a growing teamÂ
Strong attention to detailÂ
Strong verbal and written communication skillsÂ
Accurate record-keeping abilityÂ
Ability to work in a team environmentÂ
Previous experience using pipettes, liquid handling systems, UV spectrophotometer, and/or Mass Spectrometer preferredÂ
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.)Â
Ability to lift 40 poundsÂ
Ability to read small fonts on sample tubes and documentsÂ
Reaching, lifting, bending, using a step stool and ladderÂ
Extended periods of time standing or sitting, operating lab computers and equipment while wearing a lab coat, safety glasses, and glovesÂ
Will be working in an area with hazardous chemicalsÂ
May have to use hand tools to adjust settings on instruments as neededÂ
