Position Summary:
 The Master Scheduler / Inventory Control position is a strategic planning and operations role that integrates production scheduling with inventory management to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused operations. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills to align production plans with demand forecasts, material availability, and inventory targets.Â
Key Responsibilities:

Master Scheduling Duties:
- Develop, maintain, and communicate a valid Master Production Schedule (MPS) aligned with business plans, sales forecasts, and customer orders.Â
- Translate demand plans into granular, executable production schedules, considering manufacturing constraints, lead times, and capacity.Â
- Perform “what-if” analyses and scenario planning to anticipate disruptions and optimize schedules.Â
- Lead weekly scheduling meetings with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Procurement to resolve conflicts and track performance.Â
- Participate in monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), providing data and recommendations on capacity, production, and inventory health.Â
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels for finished goods and work-in-progress (WIP) to meet service targets while minimizing carrying costs.Â
- Analyze plant capacity (labor, machinery, tooling) to identify bottlenecks and recommend mitigation strategies.Â
- Use advanced scheduling software to create and maintain accurate production schedules.Â
- Forecast and manage budgets for production scheduling.Â
Inventory Control Duties:
- Monitor material inventories, track production progress, and identify factors affecting schedules.Â
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure data integrity in ERP systems.Â
- Control planning data, lead times, order quantities, and reorder points (ROP).Â
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement to ensure material availability.Â
- Implement process improvements to enhance scheduling and inventory efficiency.Â
- Communicate inventory status and potential impacts on production to management and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or related fieldÂ
- Certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, or CPM are preferred.Â
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, WISE, Cincom) and scheduling softwareÂ
- Experience with workforce management, capacity planning, and inventory control.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teamsÂ
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–10 years in supply chain, master scheduling, or inventory control roles.Â
- Proven track record in optimizing production schedules and reducing inventory costs.
