Position Summary:
The Master Scheduler / Inventory Control position is a strategic planning and operations role that integrates production scheduling with inventory management to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused operations. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills to align production plans with demand forecasts, material availability, and inventory targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Master Scheduling Duties:

Develop, maintain, and communicate a valid Master Production Schedule (MPS) aligned with business plans, sales forecasts, and customer orders.
Translate demand plans into granular, executable production schedules, considering manufacturing constraints, lead times, and capacity.
Perform “what-if” analyses and scenario planning to anticipate disruptions and optimize schedules.
Lead weekly scheduling meetings with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Procurement to resolve conflicts and track performance.
Participate in monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), providing data and recommendations on capacity, production, and inventory health.
Monitor and optimize inventory levels for finished goods and work-in-progress (WIP) to meet service targets while minimizing carrying costs.
Analyze plant capacity (labor, machinery, tooling) to identify bottlenecks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Use advanced scheduling software to create and maintain accurate production schedules.
Forecast and manage budgets for production scheduling.

Inventory Control Duties:

Monitor material inventories, track production progress, and identify factors affecting schedules.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure data integrity in ERP systems.
Control planning data, lead times, order quantities, and reorder points (ROP).
Collaborate with supply chain and procurement to ensure material availability.
Implement process improvements to enhance scheduling and inventory efficiency.
Communicate inventory status and potential impacts on production to management and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or related field
Certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, or CPM are preferred.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, WISE, Cincom) and scheduling software
Experience with workforce management, capacity planning, and inventory control.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Experience:

Minimum 5–10 years in supply chain, master scheduling, or inventory control roles.
Proven track record in optimizing production schedules and reducing inventory costs.
