Job Summary-  Responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of children, seniors, staff and other passengers during bus transportation.

Job DutiesÂ
·        Drive gasoline, powered 25 passenger bus to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, school activities and programs.
·        Maintain the safe operating condition, fuel and cleanliness of the vehicle, immediately reporting any problems to the Director of Operations.
·        Follow strict time schedules when picking up and dropping off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations.
·        Communicate with staff and parents to adjust route & schedule as necessary.
·        Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
·        Prepare and submit reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, fuel consumption, and or fares received.
·        Follow driving and child safety rules.
·        Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations
·        Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation systems for passenger comfort; conduct pre and post event evaluations and report on outcomes.
·        Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
·        A valid commercial driver’s license or chauffer license to operate a bus; clean driving record
·        High School diploma or equivalent
·        1-3 years of driving experience; working for a childcare facility a plus
·        Flexibility in working hours to accommodate organization needs
·        Ability to pass fingerprint clearance test
·        Must be 21 years of age
·        Hours: M-F 7a to 4:30pm (1 hour lunch); or 8am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)
·        Pay: $16.00 to $18.00 hourly to start; competitive health insurance incentives and benefits
