Production Scheduler – Supply Chain Planning

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Help keep production, and our customers, moving

Weaver Popcorn Manufacturing is seeking an organized, proactive Production Scheduler to coordinate production schedules, raw materials, inventory, and customer fulfillment.


In this role, you’ll connect customer demand with production capacity and material availability. You’ll work closely with production, purchasing, sales, distribution, suppliers, and customer supply chain teams to resolve constraints, maintain inventory targets, and keep orders on schedule.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Adjust production plans based on demand, labor, capacity, inventory, and material availability.
  • Plan raw material requirements and help maintain established inventory targets.
  • Communicate with suppliers about availability, lead times, inbound deliveries, and potential delays.
  • Partner with production, purchasing, sales, distribution, and other supply chain teams to meet customer commitments.
  • Enter and maintain customer orders and communicate changes that could affect fulfillment.
  • Coordinate trailer pool requirements to support production and customer shipments.
  • Monitor inventory and identify potential shortages or excess materials.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts, production delays, material constraints, and delivery risks.
  • Track and report metrics such as schedule adherence, customer service, inventory, downtime, and throughput.
  • Participate in forecasting, supply planning, and production planning meetings.
  • Recommend improvements to scheduling, material planning, fulfillment, and communication processes.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with production scheduling, material planning, inventory management, or customer fulfillment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory controls, and supply planning principles.
  • Experience communicating with suppliers or customer supply chain teams.
  • Familiarity with AS400 or another ERP, planning, or order-management system.

Requirements

Qualifications: 

Required:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving scheduling issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Experience in production planning or manufacturing scheduling
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and scheduling best practices
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or other production planning software

About the Role

This is a full-time, salaried position based at our Indianapolis office. The role requires onsite work 4 of the 5 days per week with occasional travel to our Van Buren, Indiana manufacturing facility 2–4 times per month a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
