Job DetailsJob Location: HGC Industries - Indianapolis, IN 46218Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-FridayJob Title: Quality Engineer II Department: Quality Reports To: Quality Manager Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Location: On-Site  JOB OVERVIEW: The Quality Engineer works with Operations and Engineering to establish processes, documentation and training to prevent defects and meet customer requirements for automotive customers. The QE will also be responsible for managing assigned customers and suppliers. This will be accomplished through strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with a team while complying with IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards. The Quality Engineer contributes to the HGC company mission by building positive relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers. Success for a quality engineer will result in trusting relationships, improved processes, and improved quality systems.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works with Engineering and Operations to develop processes and documentation supporting our quality management system. Including: APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis) PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) Design/Process Reviews Conduct product and process audits and inspections 8D problem-solving and root-cause analysis Continuous improvement teams Leads completion of assigned external and internal corrective actions Read blueprints and identify non-conforming product Performs customer/supplier audits, layered audits, and internal quality and environmental system audits (IATF 16949 and ISO14000) Supports Operations, Receiving, Materials, and Quality with nonconforming product disposition SPC implementation and management Manages assigned customers/suppliers to address quality-related activities and lead improvement teams Follows and reviews active projects by maintaining project activity trackers, attending project review meetings, and signing off on project phase completions. Provides quality support as necessary to customers during all phases of product development Perform other duties as assigned  REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Proficient math skills, including statistical analysis Root cause analysis and formal problem-solving ability Ability to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligence Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal and customer service skills  Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills and ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks based on importance Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  Adaptability skills to effectively manage demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events Ability to work self-sufficiently to ensure accuracy and quality of tasks Ability to navigate and resolve internal or external situations effectively and resourcefully Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to effectively manage both emotional and social intelligence Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and HGC Industries stakeholders                                                                                                            QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a technical field or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree A minimum of 5 years in Quality Engineering Certified Quality Engineer(CQE) a plus AITF 16949 or ISO14000 auditor certification a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Experience with IATF16949 and ISO14001 certifications required 3+ years in automotive is preferred  PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting for long periods- 5-10 hours a day Standing for long periods- 5-10 hours a day Walking for long periods- 1-5 hours a day Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl- occasionally Push, pull, twist, reach, & engage in rapid reflex movements- Occasionally Climbing on ladders, scaffolding, and/or stairs- If needed                                                   ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Manufacturing plant and office employees can/will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.  TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional (less than 5%) travel to local customers and suppliers     HGC Industries provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants.
