Description
Registered behavior technicians are professionals who have completed a minimum of 40-hours of intensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), have successfully passed a competency assessment administered by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and received a passing score on the Registered Behavior Technician exam through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. All Registered Behavior Technicians are supervised by BCBA’s on a weekly basis and engage in behavior analytic professional development activities. Registered Behavior Technicians are responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the BCBA. The Registered Behavior Technician will collect data and implement some types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments) under the supervision of a BCBA. The RBT will receive supervision for no less than 5% of the hours providing direct therapy per week.Â

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with BCBA/BCaBA
- Collect data accurately and implement programs as specified by the BCBA/BCaBA
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form with a diverse group of clients, parents/caregivers, school personnel, and other agency staff
- Use a computer or other device and behavioral software to prepare documents and maintain client records
- Work independently and make decisions within their scope of practice
- Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance own professional development
- Engage with clients and always be aware of their location
- Collect accurate data while interacting with the client
- Other duties as assigned.Â

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Pro-active intervention strategies

- Understand the Principles of Reinforcement
- Developmental processes of children/adolescents
- Interpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products and other technology.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working with children/adolescents/young adults with developmental disabilities and/or unique learning needs
- Hold an active RBT credential
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Repetitive physical activity such as data entry.
