Job Description

As a Security Officer Security Screener in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct screening activities, and support access point operations. You will help promote a secure environment through visible presence, strong communication, and customer service. In a role shaped by teamwork, integrity, and innovation, you will contribute to important security-related operations while working with a caring and reliable team.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen people, packages, and/or personal items entering or leaving the location in accordance with posted procedures and access requirements.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details through appropriate channels.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with X-Ray screening is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
