Join our finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst supporting a clinical region, where you'll play a key role in driving financial accountability and strategic decision-making through detailed data analysis, reporting, and modeling. About the Role
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing the month-end close process for a clinical region, analyzing financial data to provide meaningful insights, and supporting operational and strategic decisions. You will collaborate with business partners, evaluate historical and current data, and interpret industry and legislative trends to produce actionable deliverables that inform leadership and improve financial performance.
Your expertise in data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting will ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial information supporting IU Health’s mission and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Â
- Lead and execute the month-end close process for the assigned clinical region, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Develop and communicate key financial drivers and results, providing clarity on variances and trends.
- Partner with business leaders and operational teams to interpret data and support decision-making.
- Analyze historical, current, and projected financial data, including benchmarking and industry trends, to identify opportunities and risks.
- Prepare detailed reports, pro formas, and ad hoc analyses to support outcome-based and impact-driven decisions.
- Study legislative, industry, and healthcare trends and assess their impact on financial performance and planning.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities to guide strategic initiatives.
- Identify patterns or anomalies in complex data sets and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
Qualifications Â
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 2+ years of relevant financial and operational analysis experience.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience working with complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis tools).
- Relational database or financial modeling experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
