Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc., is seeking to hire a Service Manager for our Indianapolis, IN location. This position is responsible for managing branch operations and Service Technicians on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Technician Management

  • Collaborate with Dispatch, Parts, and administrative teams to manage the day-to-day scheduling of service technicians and achieve utilization and profitability goals.
  • Manage service technicians to ensure proper conduct, task completion, safety practices, and professional customer etiquette.
  • Communicate with technicians regarding schedules, service issues, and concerns.
  • Monitor and approve purchases related to emergency service jobs and non-stock items.
  • Conduct periodic team meetings to develop strategies, address challenges, and improve overall performance.
  • Conduct technician performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Review FSRs, timekeeping, and job wrap-up activities for accuracy and completeness.

 

Atlas Direct Management Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers regarding schedules, service issues, and concerns.
  • Conduct customer site visits to assess account health and identify opportunities.
  • Review service repair quotes as needed and communicate them to customers.
  • Ensure timely review and billing of service jobs.
  • Collaborate with the Service Agreement Coordinator to maximize the efficiency of preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure service technicians comply with company-established directives, policies, and standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales, customers, and other key team members to develop effective solutions.
  • Assist Regional Account Managers with technical customer calls and review work scopes for accuracy.
  • Develop and implement timely solutions to customer issues and concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while maintaining and improving attachment rates.
  • Ensure clear, accurate, and timely communication across all channels.
  • Maintain branch organization and uphold housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure accurate purchase order capture and effective management of open jobs.
  • Participate in the manager on-call rotation for after-hours emergency calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management or in accordance with Atlas bylaws, policies, and standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with industrial air compressor systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required, or a minimum of three years of experience in the air compressor industry.
  • Previous management experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to manage timelines, prioritize responsibilities, and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills with an emphasis on logical reasoning and sound decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Ability to understand, prepare, and present reports as needed.
