Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid/Onsite in office 3 days/week

Working Location: Indianapolis

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented engineer to join the Rolls-Royce Systems Engineering & Verification Team as a ‘Sr. Project Engineer’, deployed to the AE 1107F engine program powering the US Army MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft.

In this role you will be responsible to provide programmatic leadership to an extended, multi-functional integrated product team (IPT) to apply a systems approach to the realization of a new system or the modification of an existing one. You will define, plan, monitor, control, and deliver solutions to meet stakeholder requirements, and plan and deliver verification programs to ensure that Rolls-Royce's products meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead cross-functional teams, driving timely and cost-effective completion of subsystem and component development activities.
  • Define and estimate work packages using subsystem and component requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans and integrated schedules across all phases.
  • Define and execute verification, certification, and qualification strategies.
  • Manage and deliver compliance documentation from requirements capture through verification.
  • Proactively manage risks and ensure adherence to processes and regulations.
  • Monitor and control program cost and schedule using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations for internal and customer reviews.
  • Collaborate with teams and suppliers, reporting status and escalating issues as needed.
  • Utilize Systems Engineering tools such as Cameo (MBSE) for requirements management and verification strategies.
  • Make informed decisions in ambiguous situations and quickly resolve complex technical issues.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with 5+years’ experience, or
  • Master’s degree in engineering with 3+years’ experience, or
  • JD/PhD with 0+years’ experience
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Preferred:

  • Engineering project management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead or manage teams to successful program completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in teams, take initiative, and deliver tasks on schedule.
  • Experience interfacing with external customers and delivering engine assembly and testing at the system level.
  • Experience with gas turbine engines.
  • Familiarity with component definition requirements.
  • Experience with fixed process approval.
  • Experience collaborating with purchasing organizations.
  • Background in design and/or manufacturing engineering.
  • Formal training in project management, requirements management, Systems Engineering, or validation and verification methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
