Client Profile- A private, nonprofit civil rights/fair housing organization founded in 2011.Its mission is to ensure equal housing opportunities by eliminating housing discrimination through advocacy, enforcement, education and outreach.



Job Summary- The fair housing specialist is responsible for engaging with potential clients including starting the intake process, conducting research, and other functions assigned by the Executive Director.


Duties

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collect the necessary information to complete the initial client intake screen

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Answer general questions from renters/homeowners and discuss agency services with potential clients via phone, in person and email

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Refer potential clients that are outside of organization service offerings to other organizations that could help as necessary.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist housing counseling team to ensure the intake process is update and efficient; prepare and submit data to be included in reports.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Network with other service providers to strengthen services and referrals

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stay current with service offerings; worth with external attorneys with needed

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Represent the organization at external meetings, events, etc; participate in staff training; remained information of changes in regulations, statues, ordinances etc.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Safeguard client security and confidentiality

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in related field or equivalent experience

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and possess good analytical, problem solving, and writing skills with strong attention to detail

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrate the ability to recruit and manage volunteers

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must be organized, thorough, accurate and possess proficiency with computer and related needs

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Possess good teamwork skills and the ability to work with a diverse population

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong written and verbal skills

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to attend evening and weekend meeting as needed
